Blog By Number Course and Review
Starting a new blog can be fun and exciting…and it can be utterly overwhelming too! If you are not super tech-savvy, it can feel even worse! You may have been inspired to start a blog by one of your favorite bloggers. Their site is clean and streamlined. They are already established and they make it look so easy. Then you get started and begin to realize just how much work goes into creating an awesome blog. On top of that if you work full-time or happen to be a mom of littles, (or, like me, who is a mom to a menagerie of pets!) then starting a blog can seem downright impossible. Enter Suzi Whitford– the super sweet and genius creator behind StartaMomBlog.com and the Blog by Number course and e-book.
Who is Suzi Whitford?
Suzi is a stay-at-home mom of a young, growing family. She has 3 little ones and she started her current blog, Startamomblog.com, just 2 weeks before Baby #2 arrived. She’s a busy mom and completely understands that we all are busy! One of my favorite parts about her course is that she shows you the exact steps to take to get your blog started!
Her background is in Industrial Engineering where she implemented systems to improve efficiency and workflow for Fortune 100 companies. As a kid, she grew up loving all things computers and ended up teaching web design as a teaching assistant in college. She puts all her knowledge and experience to great use by teaching you proven systems and methods for creating a strong foundation for your new blog. She also shares tips and tricks to keep you focused and moving forward on the important stuff for your new blog.

Suzi is like a cool mom friend who has a ton of blogging experience. Someone who will hold your hand and lead you through starting your very own successful blog. You’ll learn how to set your blog up, bring traffic to your new site, build a following, and even earn an income if that’s your goal. All with a clear plan of action that can work around your job or family life!
Her advice is practical, realistic, and encouraging to help you bring your blog dreams to fruition.
Not to mention, she makes over $30,000 a month with her blog! So she must be doing something right!
She gives you a great guideline for setting your blog up in just one month. And if you are especially motivated you can even get it done in less time!
1. It’s Very Thorough
The Blog by Number course covers the technical aspect of setting up your blog with a modern free theme. Suzi gives tons of tips on writing stellar content and interesting blog headlines to keep your readers on your site. She shows you how to create nice looking images to add to your blog. And how to customize your site so that it looks professional right from the start. She goes over how to make pinnable images that you can pin on Pinterest. There is a great section on Pinterest and an updated section about what is working with Facebook for 2018.
Suzi also includes info on ways to monetize your site. Throughout the course, there are a bunch of great freebies that will make starting your blog easy and that will help you look professional right from the start. It includes 20 stock photos, over 480 popular Pinterest groups that you can join to boost traffic (with posting guidelines), and so much more!
There are infographics that are easy to follow and they break things down into very actionable steps. Truly, this course and the e-book will hold your hand through launching and growing an awesome blog.
2. It’s Straightforward and Easy to Follow
It is straightforward and it works to get your blog up and running in no time!
I was first introduced to Suzi and Blog by Number when I purchased the Genius Blogger’s Toolkit back in 2017 and Blog by Number was included in the bundle.
The e-book and course break down setting up a blog into bite-sized pieces on a realistic timeline. You might need to hustle a bit, but the framework will keep you on track. And it will keep you from chasing after ALL THE THINGS at once.
Added bonus: Suzi has just added updated content! With new information and tips. As well as, recommending a new theme that is more up-to-date and supported. And since updates are free after you buy the course, you can always go back through the course and go through the new content and update your blog.
Side Note: Buying the Course + Ebook Vs Ebook Alone
When you’re first starting out with a new blog, cost can definitely be an issue. Although starting a blog is a lot less expensive than starting any other type of business! It can be hard to justify buying a course when you have just spent money purchasing a domain and hosting (I use Bluehost to host Tech Girl Help Desk and absolutely love them!), and clearly, not making any money yet.
I’m also a bit of a course/e-book junkie and want to read and buy ALL THE THINGS.
I seriously debated buying just the Blog by Number ebook instead of the course...before I ever knew the course was going to be in the GBTK. Obviously, if you are trying to save some money the e-book is the less expensive route. Also, if you are someone who tends to learn and retain info better when you read rather than watching videos….again the e-book may be better for you.
Yet, the course and videos have also been so helpful! Many of them I’ve watched 3 or 4 times! It is great to be able to go back and watch them again while you fine tune your blog.
Even though I am comfortable with the tech end of things, it is very cool to be able to see how a ‘real’ blogger does things like adding a freebie into a blog post so that it is pretty and enticing and much better at getting those subscribers!
Because blogging is pretty technical and requires a degree of computer know-how, I did spring for the e-book too when I saw it offered on sale. And I am so incredibly glad that I did! Cause once I started the course I was excited to keep learning. When I was away from my computer I could still read through the e-book on my phone and continue learning.
Final Thoughts on My Blog by Number Review
The cost of this course is very reasonable. And the content is EXCELLENT! I love having a roadmap for new business ventures, and this course and e-book definitely delivered.
Before getting the Blog by Numbers course, I purchased another popular course on starting a blog and paid a good deal more for it. I was so disappointed with how skimpy that course was, especially compared to Blog by Number.
Blog by Number delivers a ton of information, guidance, and encouragement. This course is a lot of bang for your blogging buck! Especially when compared to a lot of other options out there. If you have any specific questions about it, please let me know!
Additional info:
Suzi also has a bunch of other amazing courses that build on the content of Blog by Number, and this one is super inexpensive– just the cost of a couple of fancy coffees from Starbucks! How great is that?!
It’s called Post by Number, and it’s an easy to follow formula to write a great blog post every time! Taking that course also gives you the opportunity to guest post for her new online community to significantly increase your reach as a brand new blogger.
Suzi’s courses and resources give you the skills and exposure you need to make a great start as a new blogger!
I hope you have enjoyed this review of Blog by Number and are inspired to get started with your own blog today! If you have any questions about the course, feel free to ask in the comments.
I started my blog 3 months ago and it really can be overwhelming. There is so much to learn and so much to do, so finding helpful tools is SO important.

Yeah, I have a bunch too! They are great!
I’ve not heard of blog by numbers but it sounds interesting. Thanks for sharing – I’ll check it out 🙂
It’s a really great course! Especially if you get stuck on the technical aspects of getting started. She walks you through step-by-step so that you can get started correctly. I consider myself pretty tech-savvy and I still got lots out of this course!
